The A&A Composites Lab offers a dedicated area for layup and composites manufacturing. Featuring equipment such as a layup table, vacuum pumps and a heated platen press.
Lab access
For access to the Composites lab, please fill out our Composites Lab Use Request Form and send to aafacilities@uw.edu. The Facilities team will work with you to schedule adequate time to complete your project. Each unique composites manufacturing project will require a separate reservation.
Availability
The A&A composites lab does not have walk-in hours and is only available by reservation. Please see the calendar below for the current reservation schedule and unavailable dates.
Training
Before you start working in the lab you must have completed and passed the following trainings. All users must complete an in-person lab orientation.
Equipment
- General layout hand tools.
- 2x vacuum pumps.
- 4’x8’ layout table.
- Wabash 50 ton Hot Press.
- Composites freezer storage.
- Variety of composites layup materials.
- Composites layup chemical storage.
