Professor Mehran Mesbahi, an IEEE Fellow, has been elected to the Board of Governors of the IEEE Control Systems Society (CSS). This prestigious appointment is for a three-year term, beginning January 1, 2025, and ending December 31, 2027.
The IEEE Control Systems Society, founded in 1954, is dedicated to advancing the theory and practice of systems and control. For over 65 years, the CSS has been at the forefront of control systems theory and technology, promoting scientific, technological, and educational advancements in automatic control, decision making, theory, and applications worldwide.
The Board of Governors plays a crucial role in the governance of the IEEE CSS, setting strategic direction, providing necessary resources, and making key decisions to meet member needs. Mesbahi's election to this board is a testament to his expertise and standing in the field.
Upon learning of his election, Mesbahi commented, "I am honored to be elected to the Board of Governors of the IEEE Control Systems Society.
